When you're buying a horse out of the Patrick Payne stables you know it's had the best education a horse can have, being in the hands of exceptionally good conditioners.鈥 Takebloodstock sold horses out of the stable have done very well in recent times. They include; Zebedee Springs, Funnyifitwon, Lily Allez, The Ineos, Babu King, Marcolt, Need A Miracle, Duke Of Wellington, Secret Location, Major Makeover, Pop Quiz, Eddy Street, Warrandyte Road, Pub Crawl, Stepchild, Lang Park,
Itwasonlyakiss (IRE), En Primeur, Tee Galleria, Sasterion, Offa's Dyke etc. If we went back further the list would just keep going!

  • Cast A Line is a three-year-old gelding trained in Victoria who has had just two starts, both in his current first preparation, which commenced in October. He finished fifth over 1175 metres at his first outing, before having an 800-metre jump-out at Colac on 22 October, where he finished fourth, beaten around three lengths.

  • He had his second start at Swan Hill on 27 October over 1200 metres, finishing eighth, beaten six lengths. While a provincial maiden, this was certainly no easy assignment, with several well-established stables represented. The winner, Tremont, from the Hayes stable, looks a promising type, while the third horse came from the Taige Weir stable, the fourth from Lindsay Smith and Patrick Payne also had another runner finish fifth. I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be a particularly good form maiden, with several of these horses capable of winning races in the near future.

  • He is nominated to run on Sunday 8 November at Ararat in Race 3 at 2:35 pm Melbourne time. It’s a $42,000 maiden, and despite being on the provincial circuit, it’s a competitive field with some strong stables represented and a number of runners showing reasonable form. He is likely to start at long odds, but given his limited experience and the strength of the opposition he has faced, a competitive performance and a finish within similar margins to his previous starts would be encouraging.

  • He is fit and race-ready, but is still in the early stages of his career. Victoria arguably has some of the strongest and toughest provincial racing in Australia, and his two starts have hardly been in weak maidens. There could be some upside with further racing experience, and I think he could be better suited in the right company in areas such as Tasmania, South Australia, North Queensland, provincial Western Australia, the Northern Territory and some of the more remote NSW country circuits.

Stable notes: No Vices, pretty straight forward horse. Suited to lesser racing jurisdiction. running on Sunday. We've got a clear vet report and supplying it for the sale".

    PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ:

    auto bid v bid directly
You can "AUTO BID" your max bid and the platform will automatically bid on your behalf, to your max, without anyone EVER knowing your highest bid, starting at the minimum increment of $100 above the current highest offer (over $3000 it's $200). Check though, as "BID DIRECTLY" bids will override an AUTO BID, should the same bid be placed (or closest to). i.e  Your limit is $10k and you auto bid that amount, someone chimes in manually at $10k also (or closest to, $9900), their bid, being the BID DIRECTLY bid, will count over your AUTO BID bid, so be mindful.

when extra time "might" be added
(P.S ALWAYS remember to refresh your browser when monitoring or bidding, MAINLY the last minute of the countdown. Also check your bid ID, in some instances in the last minute, bidders have thought they're still in front when they're not.  (EXTRA TIME will be re-added continuously if there's a bid placed inside last 60 seconds - until no further bids within last 60 seconds, this is why it's important to REFRESH browser on EVERY 1st bid back inside 1 minute, to see extra time added & displayed to countdown clock). This applies even with 1 second to go, as the platform may take just over 1 second to process bid before close.
