• Charles Bridge had his debut run at Balaklava Wednesday (30/09). Coming into the race he had been well educated through numerous jump-outs and official trials, including a jump-out win on 15 September. His trial form also reads well, having finished second at Morphettville Parks in April behind Czech Out, who has since won a Saturday metropolitan $50,000 maiden and is stakes-placed. He also finished third in another official trial behind Make Me a Match, who has since won at a provincial South Australian track.


• Prior to his 1st race start, he easily WON a 600m jump-out at Morphettville on 15th September. CLICK HERE to view field and replay / jump-out 7. His overall record in jump-outs and trials is - 3rd. 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 1st.


• On debut 30/09 Balaklava, he tracked into the race nicely and, after being extricated on the home turn, looked like he was going to hit the line strongly. He didn’t quite finish off as expected, given he was $3.80 in the market. Only beaten seven odd lengths and I wouldn’t be sacking him on that run over 1050m. There should be improvement to come, as he's looked quite green in the limited trials and jump-outs to date.


• His owners are big players and, as you know, regularly have horses coming through the system, with a number of new two-year-olds now coming through, so it’s simply time to make way for them.


• This is a good opportunity to buy a horse who is in full work, has had a good education and is ready to go on with. His debut run suggests and there is something to work with. Importantly, he’s educated, fit and ready to race, so there shouldn’t be a long wait to find out what he can do.
  
  Stable Notes: "Shown aggression towards other horses his only main vice, however, floats well & fine to handle. Thick winded & can make a whistle – scope at rest has been normal.
  He's been sound overall. Stable vet had a look at him post race / this morning and he trotted up fine. He's got the ability to be competitive & win around weaker circuits".
